Kirinzi

Restaurant Interior

Kirinzi is a Japanese restaurant in the center of Madrid, designed as a warm and contemporary space that blends cultural authenticity with a fresh, playful touch. To bring intimacy to the large open floor plan, we introduced a series of wooden column structures that shape the flow of the interior while providing soft, atmospheric lighting.

A key visual feature is the main plaster wall decorated with white reliefs of iconic Japanese characters. Subtle LED lighting reveals their forms through shadow, creating a refined yet fun element that has quickly become the restaurant’s most photographed spot.

HTDS handled the complete creative direction—naming, branding, furniture, lighting, and spatial design—ensuring that every detail works together. The result is an inviting and memorable dining environment where food, culture, and design meet naturally.
